Hugh was born and raised in Johannesburg and has been a practising Attorney since 1986. He has a general practice with particular expertise in commercial law, family law and litigation.Hugh has been interviewed as an attorney on both radio and television. Hugh is a former Gauteng Chairman of the IUA-UCF, former Chairman of the Keter Torah Congregation in Johannesburg, and a current Trustee of the Rambam Charitable Trust.
Hugh has led services on the High Holy Days at the Shtiebel Congregation at Pine Street Shul, the Sunny Road Shul, and the Northcliff Hebrew Congregation for many years, and teaches Jewish Law, philosophy and ethics on a weekly basis.
Hugh has become well known for his published articles and having presented to local and international audiences, over 130 very popular audiovisual presentations on Jewish communities across the globe, including: Argentina, Belarus, China, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Rhodos, Russia and Spain.
Hugh is the Scholar-in-Residence for Eddies Kosher Travels, and has led tours to Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus and Morocco. Hugh has often been interviewed on ChaiFM Radio on his Jewish Heritage Travels.
Hugh is married to Michelle and they have 5 children.
Chaim was born and grew up in Johannesburg and moved to Cape Town at the age of 28. Chaim’s love and talent has always been music and singing. With his melodious and warm voice, Chaim is extremely well-versed in Jewish Liturgy. From the High Holy Day services and Shabbat / Festival prayers to his fluent reading from the Torah, Chaim enthuses the ancient Jewish texts with a sense of significance and focus on what this means for the individual. He inspires, delights and captures the essence of each unique Jewish life-cycle event with passion and authenticity.
Chaim studied post graduate Marketing and works for himself as a Brand Architect and Creative Designer specialising in graphic, product and industrial design. He has also published a range of brochures and booklets for Jewish occasions; including the Pesach Haggadah, Zemirot Songbooks, among many others.
Chaim has travelled extensively; davening, leining and singing in Shuls across the world and has led Pesach Sedorim for more than a decade. Chaim has one of the leading voices in the South African Jewish Community.
Chaim and his wife Lani (pronounced “Lanny”), have been married for two years and live in Cape Town, South Africa.
